Summer has arrived! Colourful clothes to celebrate the sunshine in

It’s almost June, but the sun has only just started to show its much-longed for face. Now that it’s here though, embrace a colourful wardrobe that will reflect the weather and your frame of mind. Here are some punchy pieces that are perfect for the weekend ahead.

It’s the ultimate sunshine shade, and this yellow tactile linen blouse from Zara is easy to wear for day and evening. Glam it up with gold jewellery for summer nights out.

Linen blouse with bow, €29.95 at Zara

Split up this two-piece and it becomes a much more manageable affair. The abstract print is bold, so pair the pants with a simple white T-shirt or the shirt with a pair of denims to dilute the impact of the colour and print.

Shirt with bows, €89, and trousers, €89; both at uterque.com

This shirtdress is such an easy piece to throw on in summer, but the shade of red gives it maximum impact. It’s also a terrific price at just €12.99. On chillier days, wear it over trousers or jeans and on its own now that the sun is finally shining.

This embroidered jumpsuit is so pretty and the perfect piece now that the sun has finally shown its face. I love this shade of green as it’s incredibly flattering on most skin types. It works just as well for blondes and brunettes.

Embroidered jumpsuit, €39.95 at Zara

A really elegant piece, this tangerine dress is a beautifully classic item that you can pull out of your wardrobe year after year.
