Our Best High-Street Picks From The Mid-Season Sales

When all the hustle and bustle of New Year’s, Valentine’s and (for this year at least) the crazy weather dies down, there’s one thing we can count on to keep us going; a good high street mid-season sale. With a nice mix of winter warmers and bright prints to have us looking forward to the summer months, now is the perfect time to update your transitional wardrobe. Make a start with our 8 picks that you can find on the high street after work tonight (win-win!)

Peacock Print Midi Wrap Dress – €34.00 (was €68.00) from Topshop

Midi dresses in bright prints are exactly what your transitional wardrobe needs. This cute peacock print is a welcome change from typical florals, and until there’s the weather to match, this will look equally fab layered with a polo neck and tights.

Culotte Fit Pleat Houndstooth Trousers – €49.95 (was €89.95) from Massimo Dutti

Houndstooth has been massive on the catwalk, but if the loud, oversized monochrome print that we’ve seen isn’t for you, these muted blush tone culottes are the perfect alternative.

Cornelia Treble Zip Crossbody by Whistles – €149.00 (was €199.00) from Brown Thomas

Animal print is always in style. A good crossbody bag is a staple for any woman and this Whistles offering is the perfect way to add a pop of leopard print to your outfit.

Soft Scarf – €20.00 (was €29.00) from Warehouse

A pop of colour on a grey almost-winter-almost-spring day is a brilliant way to brighten your outfit and your mood. Red is a great choice, as it packs a punch without being too sugary sweet like the pastels we’ve seen recently.

Mohair blend jumper – €29.99 (was €49.99) from H&M

I’m calling it now – orange is the new red for summer. You may see it creeping into high summer’s fruity and floral prints for the height of summer, but for now, a statement knit is perfect. Plus, with a bright jumper, the rest of your outfit can stay fairly muted, so you can make use of your million pairs of black jeans and boots.

Floral Embroidered Ankle Boots – €39.95 (was €69.95) from Mango

The fact that these gorgeous boots are kitten heeled means that you can wear them into your office in comfort, and have them as the perfect statement piece for a night out. Plus, as we’re not quite ready for open-toe shoes in this weather, these Mango beauties are the perfect compromise.

Orange snakeskin trim tassel tote bag – €40.00 (was €60.00) from River Island

A good bowling-style bag will get you from office to night out, and I love the tan/burnt orange finish. Snake print and gold chain embellishments make it stand out even further.

Cream Contrast Biker Jacker – €65.00 (was €116.00)

A jacket like this is ideal for in-between weather, as it looks like a spring leather jacket but has the faux fur lining to keep you toasty underneath.
