We have two words to sum up the 2016 Oscars red carpet: SAOIRSE RONAN.
The 21-year-old saved her best fashion moment of award season for the biggest night on the film calendar. She wore a striking, shimmering?emerald gown from the?Calvin Klein Collection.?The styling is impeccable, and she looks daring and elegant. She wore it “for Ireland” and we love her for it. She kept things fresh,?opting to wear two different Chopard earrings on the red carpet – one made of pearls and the other with 18.28-carats of emeralds, 5.74-carats of jadeites, both?in 18kt white gold.
Cate Blanchett wore an exquisite seafoam gown with delicate floral embellishments by Armani Prive. She also sported a brand new short hairdo. All in all, it was breathtaking.
Chrissy Teigen taking maternity fashion to a new level in a bump-skimming Marchesa dress. The long-sleeve nude gown stood out on the red carpet with its maroon floral embroidering and beading – stunning.
J-Law converted to type as Dior ambassador, but always looks looks polished no matter what – and she really outdid herself for Sunday evening’s Oscars red carpet. The 25-year-old was radiant in black lace gown by Dior Haute. We love it.
For her first turn at the Oscars as a nominated actress, McAdams stepped out at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood in an emerald green gown by August Getty Atelier which she styled with an up do and silver jewels. Tr’s chic.
Naomi Watts tends to play it safe, so we like that she went for something a little different this time. She arrived in an incredible, embellished strapless navy gown by Armani Prive that her partner – the always dashing Liv Schreiber – chose nonetheless. The man has good taste.
Gaga took us all by surprise in a cream strapless white jumpsuit with a long skirt attachment from stylist-turned-designer Brandon Maxwell’s fall line. Pairing it with old Hollywood curls, she looked undeniably elegant. Since her acclaim for her acting abilities, there’s no doubt that the singer’s style has changed; it’s less about shock value and more centred around classic, albeit high fashion. And it suits her.
Actress Olivia Munn wore stunning one-shouldered Stella McCartney orange gown to the Oscars. Fair play to her for embracing such a bold colour.
Charlie Theron’s plunging Dior gown is a lesson in how to wear red on a red carpet and get it so right.
Brie Larson should win (another) trophy for breakout style star. She ended her perfect award season run with a royal blue embellished gown by Gucci. It is beautiful.
