The Dublin Fashion Festival just kicked off yesterday and sartorial?events will keep swinging until this Sunday?September 13th. Expect the showcasing of the new season from some of our favourite high street haunts, with in-store launches and live fashion shows?to get you plotting various directions for your next pay cheque. There are also a host of interesting exhibitions giving a voice to young Irish designers on the schedule too. Here we gather some of the events?we’re adding to the to-do list.
Exhibitions
Bringing It Home is a?photo exhibition showcasing the landscapes around our gorgeous island?which inspired our talented designers for this year’s Dublin Fashion Festival photo exhibition. This is being?held at the Meeting House from 8-14th of September. Entrance is free.?Bringing it Home.
Shimmering Beginnings will be held from the 7-12th of September at The Top Floor of Powerscourt Centre. This will showcase the nascent careers of newly graduated fashion students. The theme is self-reflection and the participants are hella talented, so expect a lot of eye-stopping works.?Entrance is free.?Shimmering Beginnings.
Public Events
The Festival is all about sharing fashion experiences with the city.?This weeks the’streets are alive with catwalks and beauty and hair demos. Check out?on Grafton and Henry Street from 11.30 am on September 10-12th. For more details check out?On Street Shows.
In-Store Launches
The launch of Coast’s Autumn Winter Collection sounds pretty fabulous. This Thursday you’ll find top Irish bloggers such as Louise O?Reilly and Rebecca O’Byrne’s sharing their favourite Coast looks. There’s also?a 20% discount on the night. Head to the Stephen’s Green Coast store?September 10th from 4pm. Entrance is free. Coast Launch Evening
A Fashion Picnic
Finally on the last day of the festival, enjoy the Naked Coco Water relaxing picnic hosted by Roz Purcell and Irene O’Brien. Amazing snacks and a?vintage fashion show – talk about a perfect Sunday.
