Why do women love handbags so much? The same reason they love shoes… because they always fit and the right one can bring a special kind of kudos to an outfit. How many do you own? Five to ten? Fifteen to 20? More than 30? It’s a box we like to tick in private because, although most of aren’t on the Kylie Jenner scale of handbag ownership, many of us secretly feel we own too many.

My top pick is the Arket raffia tote. I love the vibrant shade and the graphic stripe detailing. It’s the ideal accessory when you feel an understated outfit is the thing, but you don’t want to blend into the background. I’m always looking for something with a point of difference, but sometimes all you need is a beautifully made black leather bag.
