Weekend wear is the sartorial sticking point for most women, so we’ve pulled together ten terrific casual looks perfect for mooching round on a Saturday afternoon.
All the classics in one understated outfit – a stripe, a trench coat, white trainers, a black chain handbag and a pair of denims. Perfect weekend wear whatever your age.
Monochrome always looks elegant. The chunky boots here are balanced nicely by the feminine white top. Comfortable and chic.
This wide-leg trouser and sweatshirt combination looks so comfortable, but has a real fashion edge because the pants are slightly oversized and the top has fringed detailing.
A longer-length cardigan is my weekend uniform. I love how this style-setter has?played with proportion by pairing it with cropped denims.
If pyjama dressing has been slow to take off, Kate Moss’s recent appearance at the Louis Vuitton menswear show in a silk safari-print pyjama suit will certainly add momentum to the trend. This colourful print suit is muted slightly by the elegant blush coat. A perfect pairing.
Sometimes, it’s all in the detail. A basic navy sweater is elevated with panel detailing on the upper arms, while denims are smartened up with a pair of beautiful ankle-strap shoes.
A sporty sweatshirt and a biker-style jacket are’reimagined in soft shades, and when paired with white wide-leg trousers look super chic.
Head-to-toe knits are a big trend for AW16. I love these oversized separates – so practical but so cool. This is?exactly what I would want to wear if I was browsing around town on a Saturday or meeting friends for lunch.
Ponchos, capes and throws are a really stylish way to finish off a casual look. In Ireland, whichever season we’re in, it’s all about clever layering. I love these muted hues too.
I love this colour pairing. Tangerine and khaki looks bold, but the slouchy laid-back vibe of the overall look dilutes down the impact just enough.
