Lip service: 3 creamy, comfortable lip liners that stay the distance

Lip service: 3 creamy, comfortable lip liners that stay the distance

Finding lip liners that last and don’t absolutely ravage your sensitive lip area is a challenge. But there are three holy grail ones that I turn to every time…

If it’s creamy, it doesn’t last. If it lasts, it dries your lips out.

I hear you — I’ve been that lip liner-loving soldier. But here, for your perusal, are three liners that not only last, but feel creamy and comfy going on, and as time passes.

Bobbi’s best

I challenge anyone to find a more pleasant to use, effective and lasting lip pencil. Go on, try it. Bobbi Brown’s one is my holy grail, I’m never without at least one (although one pencil will last about a year — value for money, people!).

The Pink Mauve shade matches my lips perfectly, It never dries my lips and is pigmented enough that I can go with just liner and balm on and people ask me what lipstick I’m wearing. The dream.

Wild one

Budget brilliance, these Wet N Wild liners are comfy on the lip, gel-like in texture on application and come in colours you would barely even consider. I use one called Never Petal Down and it basically goes with every lipstick I own. It shouldn’t make sense but it does, and for €4.99 I’m not complaining.

Luxe love

Chanel’s lip liners just get it so right. Soft on application, a great colour selection and long-lasting finish. Top tip? I use the little precision brush at the end with a bit of concealer to make corrections. I even dab a little concealer on and pop the lid back, ready to use on the go when I’m topping up in case I make a mistake — which I frequently do.
