The IMAGE Beauty Awards: This year’s best tan products

Looking for the best self-tan to wear this summer? The 15th annual IMAGE Beauty Awards supplement lists the best beauty launches of the last year, in partnership with Boots. The awards are independently judged by Ireland’s leading doctors, dermatologists, beauty professionals, make-up artists, hair experts and influencers.

IMAGE contributing editor Melanie Morris says, “I hope we’ve included some familiar favourites here, along with some future heroes you’ll consider valuable new additions to your beauty bag. We’ve also made sure to pick up plenty of insider pro tips from our expert judging panel and have shared the best with you in the IMAGE Beauty Awards supplement.”

Check out the five winning tanning products chosen by Liz Dwyer, journalist and founder of Beauty Bootcamp; Careena and Lorraine Galligan, directors of the Galligan Beauty College; and Trudy Hayes, founder of the Raven Beauty app.

Bellamianta Dark Self Tanning Tinted Lotion, €25

“This doesn’t smell and one application did the trick. It’s great if you love to go dark, but be careful with the bottle as it comes out quick.”
– Liz Dwyer

Black Magic Foaming Tan Remover, €20

“Leave it on for an hour and it melts away tan. Three people called me to borrow this.”
– Liz Dwyer

RoCo Conscience Clear Tan, €24

“Really natural on and so easy to apply.”
– Carina Galligan

Sally Hansen Airbrush Sun Instant Tanning Mousse, €13.95

“A great budget buy, easy to put on, doesn’t smell horrific. One layer is fine, with a medium wear of two to three days.”
– Liz Dwyer

Vita Liberata Body Blur Instant HD Skin Finish, €37.50

“This gives a really nice finish without discoloring. You can see your skin still, with veins and imperfections covered up.”
– Liz Dwyer
