Fashion Month isn’t just about the clothes, you know? These runways may shape the high street down the manufacturing line,?but it is the backstage beauty prep that gets us really excited. Make-up is the great equaliser. It bridges the high classes with the masses, and vice versa. A trend is a trend, be it paid for in the highchair of a fancy beauty hall or created in the public toilets of a train station. And it is the runways of the various fashion weeks that plant the ideas which get us the ultimate compliments. Backstage renowned artists work together on showstopper looks that dominate magazine editorials. Here’s our round-up of the best from the past week.

From the bright eyeshadow hues at Jill Stuart, Alfaro and Jsong?to the most elegant eyeliner slicks?at Lela Rose, and Tibi’s flushed cheeks, there’s a lot we’re taking from this year’s NYFW. On the hair front, the fringe has retained a strong presence on catwalks, as seen at Rebecca Minkoff and Diesel, while elsewhere the wet look made took on a sophisticated aesthetic. In true Victoria Beckham fashion, her models showcased a natural and classic look. Think simple straight hair and perfect middle partings.

Diane Von Furstenberg scorns minimalism, and this season we saw 1980s inspired curls and exotic toned eyes. It seems DVF used her own iconic look as inspiration for her show and it worked a treat.
