Nicola Elliott, Neom Organics founder and author on her life in beauty

by Holly O'Neill
19th Aug 2024

Neom Organics founder and author Nicola Elliott shares her beauty must-haves with Holly O’Neill.

My one desert island essential is… a pile of books, I’m an avid reader so I like a mix of fact and fiction.

A product that’s always on my nightstand is… Neom Perfect Night’s Sleep Pillow Mist, €27.

The first thing I put on my skin in the morning is… Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum by Ole Henriksen, €64.

The best beauty advice I ever received was… keep your face out of the sun on holiday and wear SPF 50 or above!

Everyone should try… to see looking after themselves as a necessity and not a luxury – we need to flip this concept.

I’ve always wanted to… dye my hair pale pink.

My signature scent is… jasmine essential oil.

I never travel without… a large water bottle.

I take my make-up off with… Neom Perfect Night’s Sleep Cleansing Balm & Cloth, €33.95. It’s the best in the world and cleanses and leaves your face super soft pre-bedtime.

The last beauty item I bought was Merit Flush Balm Cheek Stick in Cheeky, €27, such a nice rosy colour.

To me, being healthy means… putting enough into your wellbeing toolkit over the course of a week – think food, movement, sleep, mindset, and always adhering to the 80/20 rule of balance.

I would really like to try… AIRE Ancient Baths in London.

My three current obsessions are… magnesium in capsules as well as Neom Perfect Night’s Sleep Magnesium Bath Milk, €46 and Neom Perfect Night’s Sleep Magnesium Body Butter, €45. So many of us are deficient and it’s needed for over 360 functions in the body. Also, Jones Road make-up by Bobbi Brown which is cool and clean and anything by Brené Brown.

The first thing I do every morning is… make a cup of English breakfast tea.

My morning routine is…take my daughter to school, go to a weights class, then get to the office in London or Harrogate to catch up with Team Neom for a gossip before work.

I can’t go to work without… seeing some natural sunlight for about 15 minutes, it kick-starts your circadian rhythm and just learning about the principles of this has totally changed my sleep.

The self-care tool I use every day is… making time to carve out micro-moments where I can destress before I get overwhelmed. I find prevention is always better than cure when it comes to stress.

The best part of my day is… riding my horse with my daughter when I’ve picked her up.

The most challenging part of my day is… getting out of bed to take the kids to school, I’m not an early-morning person at all!

My daily self-care checklist routine includes… movement in the form of weights and walking, magnesium and omegas, ingesting something positive like a podcast or book daily, chatting to good friends, being creative at work and having a glass of wine from time to time at night.

I switch off from work by… horse riding – buying my horse was the greatest luxury but she forces me to be mindful, get outside and switch off from the day.

Before I go to bed, I’ll… have a bath always at 10pm with a Neom Perfect Night’s Sleep Candle, €66, lit and Neom Perfect Night’s Sleep Wellbeing Soak Bath Oil, €52, then read in bed until 10.30pm.

After a long work week, I destress by… meeting with good friends to eat good food and have some nice French wine.
