The Beauty Products We’re Loving This Month

This month our resident beauty expert Melanie Morris shares her beauty’seasonal favourites.

Red alert

If you buy one beauty treat in August, make sure it’s the new Chanel Les 4 Ombres Candeur et Exp?rience palette, €51, from Lucia Pica, their new global creative make-up and colour designer. This quad, the jewel of her debut Le Rouge Collection, features four matte shades (a first for Chanel) with 20 percent more pigment than previous shadows, each a multi-tasker for various striking results. Be sure to add the red shade to the centre of the lid for phenomenal eye-popping results. Then go for a second splurge, and line under the eye with the red Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Agap?, €25. Take this as the hottest tip of the season.

Night shift

Two fab products to incorporate into the overnight routine.

1 In the Irish corner, the award-winning Pestle & Mortar stable launches Superstar, €76, a gentle but powerful overnight oil, formulated from new generation retinoid that mimics prescription-grade tretinoin,
but without irritation. Also includes omega oils and
vitamins C, Bs and E for the skin’s answer to a midnight feast.

2 Kiehl’s continues with its love of superfoods for skin with the Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate, €48, derived from quinoa husk extract. Created to speed up cell renewal at the skin’s surface, this will smooth texture, allowing light to reflect from the face more abundantly, thus visibly improving luminosity.

The Future Is Bright

A worthy new addition to the bathroom shelf, Too Faced’s Hangover, €32, is a treatment and primer in one. Containing skin-boosting lipids, and nourishing coconut water, this first-step lotion brings life back to tired complexions. We tried the ?half face? test, noticing restored glow, colour and hydration, as well as cooling and gentle firming effects. Perfect when fast living catches up, but diaries remain relentless.

Hair Hero

Stuck in a blow-dry bind? Bring fine, limp hair to life with K?rastase L?Incroyable Blowdry, €25. The weightless, oil-free solution is activated by the heat of the dryer, smoothing out the hair’s cuticle and adding body to the root. Massage a euro-size blob all over, and prepare to be transformed.
