Set against the gritty backdrop of the 1990s, this high-octane thriller draws on an extraordinary true story. A group of ordinary customs agents are thrust into the deep end of undercover work, recruited with minimal training to infiltrate ruthless drug-smuggling networks operating across the UK. Steve Coogan leads the cast as the orchestrator of the operation, tasking recruits – played by Tom Burke (CB Strike) and Hayley Squires (The Night Manager) – with crafting entirely new personas, or “legends,” and stepping into dangerously unpredictable territory.

After the breakout success of his raw, autobiographical Baby Reindeer in 2024, Richard Gadd’s Half Man – originally developed under the title Lions – sees him once again take on a leading role, this time alongside Jamie Bell. Gadd plays Ruben, a volatile and troubled man, while Bell is Niall, his quieter former best friend. Once inseparable in their youth, the two have long since fallen out, until Ruben’s unexpected arrival at Niall’s wedding sparks a violent confrontation. The series unfolds through flashbacks spanning from the 1980s to the present, gradually revealing the complex, fractured history between them.

Matthew Rhys shows off his comic flair in this witty horror spoof, playing Tom Loftis, the well-meaning mayor of Widow’s Bay, a quaint New England island town with big tourism ambitions. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays John Creasy, a battle-scarred mercenary and former US Army special forces soldier, haunted by his past in Iraq and Afghanistan and struggling with PTSD. His path changes when he becomes the protector of Poe, a young girl who is the sole survivor of a devastating incident in Brazil. As danger closes in, Creasy teams up with a driver played by Alice Braga, forming an uneasy partnership as they work to keep Poe safe and uncover the forces targeting her. Based on AJ Quinnell’s 1980 novel.
