12 puffer coats we love that AREN’T black North Face jackets

12 puffer coats we love that AREN’T black North Face jackets

Puffer coats that keep you warm and don't make you feel like edible walking marshmallows.

Don’t get me wrong, the black North Face jackets you see everywhere are great – we love them as much as the next person. But that’s just the problem; everyone loves them, and thus everyone has one. If they don’t, they want one and so they continue being incredibly hard to come by.

As Edaein OConnell once wrote, the jackets went from being the source of teenage envy to the summit of fashion – seemingly overnight too. They sold out everywhere and getting your hands on one either meant you had money or connections (or both). Most of us have neither (sigh), and so we’ve had to source other alternatives.

The good news is that there are plenty of other options out there. The bad news is that they won’t be enough to let you into the North Face puffer crew. You win some, you lose some, eh?
