Wellness Diaries: TV presenter and radio host Lucy Kennedy

Wellness Diaries: TV presenter and radio host Lucy Kennedy

by Lucy Kennedy
11th Oct 2023

Presenter, radio host and Benecol ambassador Lucy Kennedy shares her self-care insights, tools and rituals, from early mornings to hot baths.

I wake at… 5.50am

The first thing I do every morning is… tiptoe out of my bedroom.

My morning routine is… shower, work, strong coffee.

I can’t go to work without… my hot water bottle and Vaseline.

The self-care tool I use every day is… hand cream.

The best part of my day is… collecting my children from school.

The most challenging part of my day is… staying awake past nine!

I engage with self-care every day by… walking my dog every evening after dinner.

My daily self-care checklist routine includes… phoning a family member, cleansing properly and walking.

The quickest, smallest thing I do for myself every day is… smile. Even when I’m not in the mood.

I know it’s been a good day if… everyone falls asleep happy.

I switch off from work by… writing children’s books.

Before I go to bed, I’ll… check for new recipe ideas on Instagram!

After a long work week, I destress by… sipping Malbec and watching the telly.

My go-to comfort meal is… pizza.

When I really need a moment to myself, I always… have a bath.

Something I try to do for myself every day is… count my blessings.

The most reflective moment in the day is… at night, just before I fall asleep.

The one person, place or thing guaranteed to give me joy is… my family.

I wish I could… switch off more.

Everyone should try… yoga.
