Wellness Diaries: co-founder of Powercut, Brónagh McKay

Co-founder of Powercut Brónagh McKay shares how she balances a fast-growing business with daily wellness tools.

We’ve just had a new baby so the time I wake up depends on the night feeds.

The first thing I do every morning is feed our newborn son.

My morning routine starts by getting our two boys ready for the day ahead. A quick 5-minute make-up application, coffee is a must, followed by a scan of my emails and then I’m ready to go.

I can’t go to work without wearing my Powercut leggings – comfort is key!

The self-care tool I use every day is listening to my playlist on the way to work.

The best part of my day is getting to come to work every day with my husband and co-founder, Craig.

The most challenging part of my day is getting the balance between developing a fast-growing business whilst ensuring that our boys are happy and looked after.

I engage with self-care every day by dedicating 5 minutes to journaling.

My daily self-care checklist routine includes music, journaling and a deep face cleanse every night.

The quickest, smallest thing I do for myself every day is prepping a good lunch to fuel my day.

I know it’s been a good day if the boys are in bed by 8pm.

I switch off from work by investing in a good TV series.

Before I go to bed, I’ll always have a hot shower and do my skincare routine.

After a long work week, I destress by organising our home for the week ahead.

My go-to comfort meal is Craig’s pasta carbonara.

When I really need a moment to myself, I always switch my phone to silent.

Something I try to do for myself every day is to keep my steps up.

The most reflective moment in the day is when I take 5 minutes to journal.

The one person, place or thing guaranteed to give me joy is my family.

I wish I could do more to mindfully appreciate what we’ve achieved.

Everyone should try the Powercut solid seamless leggings!
