Here, we enlist an expert skin therapist to give us a masterclass in all things face yoga. Does it *really* work? Do you need expensive tools? Agnes Gajewska weighs in.

A woman with over 20 years of experience, Agnes Gajewska is an award-winning skin therapist whose passion and drive to promote positive ageing through results-driven techniques has attracted clients from across the world. Her celebrity endorsements include Cate Blanchett, Angela Scanlon, and Roz Purcell, and many credit her as the person to bring the concept of face yoga to Ireland — a feat which many of us are utterly grateful for.

Consistently educating herself (and others!) on cutting-edge beauty therapies, techniques and technologies from all over the world so that she can provide her clients with the absolute best experience possible, Agnes is setting the standard when it comes to promoting a healthier, more natural approach to the skin’s ageing process.

Thanks to social media trends, ‘face yoga’ has become something of a buzzword among the skincare community — but what does it actually involve?

“Face yoga is a combination of workout and massage techniques for the face to deliver results,” Agnes tells us. “Face Yoga by Agnes is a unique method that also includes face cupping massage, gua sha massage, and kinetic tape applications.”

Whether you use these tools, or opt to use your own two hands, the process naturally contours and tightens the skin while increasing circulation. Agnes’ technique goes beyond skincare goals, working to improve the mindset and self-perception, helping clients look at themselves from a kind, loving perspective.

“It’s a privilege to grow old,” Agnes says. “Face Yoga by Agnes offers a kinder, safer and natural approach to age gracefully.”

So, what are some of the other benefits?

Suitable for all age groups, face yoga is a deeply relaxing technique, which relieves the stress and tension that we can hold in our face. It also boosts blood supply to nourish the skin and flush toxins away, gives you a radiant glow, and even re-sculpts the lower part of the face.

During a session with Agnes, clients learn how to breathe properly and change tongue position to give a sort of ‘non-surgical facelift’.

Agnes tells us that the daily practice has grown in popularity to such an extent that clients have group family and friend sessions in public spaces, but it is important to recognise that if these processes are not done correctly, negative results can arise.

“It’s extremely important to take part in the instructor-led online, or in-person sessions to learn about pre- or post-care steps,” Agnes concludes.

Is this a process you’ll be incorporating into your skincare routine?
