Need a break from the chaos? Join us for an evening of chats and creativity, so you can enjoy a much needed (and fun!) recharge with our IMAGE The Motherload community.
Join us on Wednesday, May 27, at Avoca Ballsbridge, for The Creative Studio: Try Something New – a special evening designed to reconnect you with your creativity, nurture your wellbeing, and celebrate the magic of motherhood.
Whether you consider yourself “creative” or not, this event is for you… because creativity isn’t about being good at art. It’s about feeling more alive, more present, and less weighed down by the overwhelm of daily life.
When and where
Date: Wednesday, May 27
Time: 6pm-8.30pm (store is open ’til 9pm)
Location: Avoca Ballsbridge
What to expect
6pm: Arrival drinks and nibbles
6.30pm: A talk on creativity & wellbeing with designer Tiu De Haan
We’re flying in TEDx speaker and ritual designer Tiu de Haan from the UK especially for this evening. In her half-hour talk, she’ll explore how tapping into our innate creative imagination can transform the way we experience everyday life… turning challenges into explorations and stress into curiosity.
7pm: A hands-on painting workshop with Mother + Art
Geraldine Carton and Kate Hynes of Mother + Art will guide you through three short, joyful exercises using charcoal and oil pastels. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to have a laugh and let go of perfectionism. All materials provided
7.45pm: An intimate chat
The evening closes with a conversation between Geraldine Carton, Kate Hynes and Holly Christine Callaghan, led by Dominique. It will be a chance to reflect, connect, and take that creative spark home with you.
This is your invitation to step away from the mental load for the evening, reconnect with yourself and have some fun, and leave feeling genuinely lighter.

Meet the speakers
Tiu de Haan, TEDx speaker and ritual designer

Tiu de Haan is an Oxford-educated ritual designer, creative facilitator, inspirational speaker and “idea doula”, who curates and creates experiences designed to shift your perspective to see the wonder in the world, helping people to birth their creative ideas and design their own unique path filled with moments of meaning. As a ritual designer, she creates bespoke ceremonies for times of transition for individuals, communities and organisational change.
Geraldine Carton and Kate Hynes, Founders of Mother + Art
Kate Hynes and Geraldine Carton are two Dublin-based contemporary artists who run Mother Art House, an arts collective which seeks to provide in-person and online opportunities to inspire more creativity and foster community. Together with their blog, classes and community events such as weekend gallery crawls or mum+baby drawing sessions, their goal is to help individuals birth new ideas, nurture creativity and fill the hole that modern, isolated living has hacked out of our lives.
Currently, Kate has two children with her third on the way, and Geraldine is pregnant with her first baby. They both teach art classes (evening adult classes and morning mum+baby classes) in Segotia in Rathmines, and spend the rest of their time working on their respective practices from their home studios in Dublin.
Holly Christine Callaghan, Artist

Holly Christine Callaghan is an Irish artist based in Wicklow and a mother of two, whose work explores the emotional landscape of motherhood, identity, and the female experience. Working across painting and illustration, her figurative compositions combine realism with symbolic imagery, rendered in bright, bold colours.
