Watch the trailer for the live action origin story of Cruella de Vil.

Over a year since we had the first glimpse of Emma Stone as Cruella, Disney has finally released the trailer and poster for the live-action origin story of Cruella de Vil, the villainess of 101 Dalmatians.

The studio unveiled the poster for Cruella yesterday, writing “Hello Cruel World,” with Academy Award winner Emma Stone donning Cruella’s iconic two-tone curls.

Cruella will dive into de Vil’s backstory. The story takes place in the punk-rock era of the 1970s, seeing Cruella working as a designer before developing a deep obsession with dogs’ coats.

The movie is currently scheduled for release in May 2021. Cruella was directed by Craig Gillespie, director of Tonya Harding biopic I, Tonya, and also stars Emma Thompson, Joel Fry and Walter Hauser.
