This city centre aparthotel is an ideal base for a weekend in Dublin

Whether you’re looking for a soft place to fall after an evening at a concert or a base for a Christmas shopping excursion, Staycity’s flagship location in Dublin city centre does the job nicely.

If you’re living outside of Dublin, finding affordable accommodation for a night in the city can feel like an impossible task. If you want something clean, safe and central, without the bells and whistles of a luxury four or five star hotel, Staycity Aparthotels Dublin City Centre property will tick all the boxes.

Located just off Henry Street, it’s one of seven locations in Dublin, with others dotted around Temple Bar, Christchurch, Mark Street and the Liberties, to name just a few. The model is simple: these locations are part-hotel, part-apartment, and Staycity accommodation can be found all over Europe, from Birmingham to Bordeaux.

Blending the comforts of home with all the amenities of a hotel, the 340 stylish studio and one-bed apartments are fully equipped with kitchenettes, televisions and en suite bathrooms. On-site, there’s a café serving breakfast, light bites and drinks, 24-hour reception, WiFi and work-friendly spaces, and a fitness centre.

The design is sleek and modern, and the bed was so very extremely comfortable. Though I only stayed for one night, these rooms are ideal for longer stays, whether that’s for business or pleasure. I would absolutely endorse this as a soft place to fall after a long day on your feet in Dublin.

When I was checking in, I was warmly welcomed by the team on reception, and there was a real buzz in the lobby as sports fans (don’t ask me what team were playing what sport!) snuck in a drink before hitting the town. You might think it would be noisy, what with its central location and all, but it really wasn’t. I sunk into the comfy bed and snored my little head off ‘til morning.

I also really appreciated the 24-hour reception in terms of safety. Especially in Dublin’s city centre, this feels even more essential. Close to the Ha’penny Bridge, Temple Bar, and Trinity College, we got to store our bags the following morning and continue strolling the streets of Dublin, weaving in and out of shops and pubs. Mostly pubs.
