Inside Vogue Williams’ boutique guest bedroom in her seaside Howth home

Inside Vogue Williams’ boutique guest bedroom in her seaside Howth home

Vogue Williams curated this peaceful seaside refuge with one goal in mind: the best night’s sleep ever.

In celebration of Wayfair‘s hugely successful (and majorly overdue) launch in Ireland, TV presenter, DJ, and podcaster Vogue Williams teamed up with the furniture and homeware brand to create a relaxing guest bedroom that mirrors the serene surroundings of her seaside Howth home.

Judging from the interiors of her West London pad, it’s clear that this Irish personality has an expert eye and exquisite taste, so it comes as no surprise that her guest bedroom is equally stunning. Describing the room as a neutral space with little pops of colour here and there, any visitors to the Irish home of Vogue Williams and husband Spencer Matthews will have an incredibly restful night’s sleep ahead of them.

Speaking on the room pre-Wayfair makeover, Williams says that it was pretty much a blank canvas. “I wanted it to echo the rest of the house, which has a beach house, Hamptons vibe,” she tells Wayfair. “We love hosting guests and having friends and family come over to visit and I just wanted to create something that was really relaxing, super comfy and welcoming. Being by the sea, it’s got a coastal look, with a mix of calming blues, grey and coral.”

Though no one likes picking favourites, there are some standout pieces that Vogue really does adore. Namely, the textured cushions and sky blue headboard. She’s also a big fan of the modern lamps, which allow for a more intimate, cosy feeling once evening rolls in. On this, we absolutely concur: big lights ruin the ambiance and should be banned entirely.

When asked for tips on creating the ultimate hotel-standard guest experience, Vogue says, “One of my favourite things about hotel stays has to be the bundle of gorgeous fluffy bath towels you arrive to, so they are an absolute must.”

“Plenty of cushions and throws help to make the space super cosy, with crisp white cotton sheets — because getting a good night’s sleep when you’re away from home is so important! A cute little tray of goodies for your guests to arrive at is a fun touch, with some local sweet treats, delicious smelling hand creams or bubble bath, and some nice hand soaps.”

Describing the guest bedroom as ‘coastal, contemporary, peaceful’, it’s clear that a lot of time, thought and energy has gone into curating the space. “I’m excited to have our first guests stay in the new look room. It’s given us even more reason to invite friends and family to stay who haven’t visited Howth yet,” Vogue says. “I always have a busy house because I love having all my friends and family over… most of the time! We tend to have an open-door policy because I’ve grown up in a full house, and it’s what I enjoy.”

Speaking on finally having a completed based at home in Ireland, Vogue says, “My Howth home is my relaxing place, it’s where our family like to go and chill out and somewhere I hope we’ll have forever, because going home is super important to me.”

“The kids love it as well, as they have a group of friends over there too. I love being by the sea and feel very lucky to have it.The cliff walk is my favourite, it’s the best thing for your mind and body. I go with my friends, we catch up, have good chats and I just love everything about it.”
