Gorgeous postbox flowers to send your mom, especially if she’s outside your 5km

Gorgeous postbox flowers to send your mom, especially if she’s outside your 5km

New florist New Moon Blooms is offering floral boxes that can be posted anywhere in Ireland and filled with stems so you can create your own arrangement.

While we have TripAdvisor for tourist destinations and endless reviews telling us the best places to eat and drink, word of mouth is still the only way to find a good florist. When you’re trying to buy flowers in an unfamiliar county, it’s almost impossible. And as Sex and the City’s Charlotte York knows, sending bad flowers is sometimes worse than sending none at all.

That’s why we’re so delighted to discover New Moon Blooms, an Irish floristry company from the incredibly talented team at Frog Prince. One of Ireland’s best wedding planning and event management companies, they have taken the downturn of large-scale events in the last 12 months as an opportunity.

New Moon Blooms specialises in postbox and dried bouquets, which can be sent anywhere in Ireland and delivered through the letterbox. No “missed you” notes or nosy neighbours who “forgot” to tell you they accepted them for you. No need to hunt out the best local blooms either, you’re guaranteed gorgeousness in every box.

Led by Sharon Griffin, who has 15 years of experience in events, New Moon Blooms are blousy and organic looking, mixing plenty of seasonal blooms with textured greenery and architectural dried stems for a full-bodied posy that with tons of interest. “My passion is floral creation with dried and fresh, and just getting in touch with Mother Nature,” as Sharon explains. Best of all, the postbox flowers have everything you need to create your own arrangement that fits your aesthetic.

Their dried collection is equally as beautiful, full of texture and a surprising amount of colour. You can pick up posies that fit your home’s palette, from pale lavender and blush hues to vibrant yellows and bright pinks. Or, select from their Blushing Moon collection for a combination of fresh and dried flowers to try your hand with.

If you haven’t got any flower arranging skills, don’t worry, Sharon is on hand with Instagram Live flower arranging classes every Thursday and lots of free YouTube tutorials so you can follow along and she whips up one of her gorgeous bouquets. It’s a lovely way to while away an afternoon, and a perfect Zoom call activity with pals. Buy a box for you and your mom and set the laptop up next to you as you both get creative.

For those bouquet-obsessed, New Moon Blooms also offers a monthly Flower Club subscription service, sending out seasonal blooms each month. There really is no nicer gift than flowers.
