Dulux have revealed their colour of the year for 2022, here’s how to use it in your home

An optimistic, fresh tone, it’s versatile, and can be combined with a whole range of shades.

Looking ahead to coming trends, the team at Dulux have announced their colour of the year for 2022 as Bright Skies™, a light blue that reminds us of sunny days. It brings a touch of nature to our interiors, while also pairing well with everything from neutrals to bolder shades.

Combined with greens and other shades of blue it will feel fresh, with earthy, warm pinks and oranges it will feel soothing, with neutrals it will be calm and open, while adding lively shades will make it feel invigorating.

Heleen Van Gent, creative director acknowledges the effect that the pandemic has had on how we use our homes. “After a spell of feeling shut in, we crave expansion – the great outdoors, the open air, a fresh approach and a new start.”

As a result, she says, “Our colour of the year is a light, airy, optimistic shade that encapsulates a breath of fresh air.”

Here are 18 products that will help you add this shade into any room in the house.
