Clever (and totally reversible) home updates for your space

From mats that look like gorgeous patterned tiles to removable wallpaper, there are plenty of commitment-free ways to refresh your home.

It’s probably safe to say that we’re all at least a little bored of our homes by now. My boyfriend and I recently had a not-entirely-joking conversation about moving house just for a change of scene.

However, whether you own or rent, there are some much easier ways to change up your surroundings without making any permanent changes. Clever solutions like tile stickers, removable wallpaper, and tile-effect vinyl mats will make it look like you’ve had the decorators in, without any of the hassle.

Tile stickers

An amazing way to make tired or just boring tiles into a real feature, tile stickers will totally transform areas like a kitchen backsplash or a bathroom wall. Check that they won’t damage your existing tiles before buying, and you’ll be able to remove them should you want a change in the future.

Removable wallpaper

As well as being much easier to apply yourself than the traditional style, removable wallpaper is also ideal for renters who want to put their stamp on a place, as well as anyone who just wants a quick way to refresh a space. There are endless options from subtle to bold, so all you have to do is find one you like.

Vinyl floor mats

An even more flexible solution is vinyl mats that look like tiles, so they can actually be moved around if you change your mind about where to put them. You also don’t need to have existing tile floors, they can be used to break up a wooden floor or cover up laminate that you don’t love.
