Dreaming of a post-pandemic holiday? Here are our favourite Irish getaways on Airbnb right now
While far off travel remains restricted, hotels in Ireland are reopen, allowing for much-needed domestic holidays.
Scratch that travel itch by booking a fun getaway at one of these picturesque stays across the country.
Here are our favourite cabin and cottage Airbnbs to stay at this summer.
Glengarriff Lodge – Glengarriff, Co Cork
Just a few minutes drive from Glengarriff village, this Airbnb gem is located near the breathtaking Beara peninsula, surrounded by ancient oak woodlands. It used to be former hunting lodge for the Earls of Bantry and is now fully restored with period furniture, wood-burning fires, and gorgeous gardens.
Log Cabin at Mournes – Newcastle, Co Down
This log cabin is right by the Mourne Mountains and just a five-minute walk from Newcastle’s harbour area. It is also right by Donard Park and Tollymore Forest Park, where Game of Thrones was filmed. Its one bedroom also has a freestanding tub — an ideal retreat for couples.
Beautiful Thatched Cottage – Coddstown, Co Wexford
Country charm meets modern luxury in this 250-year-old thatched cottage with heated floors and a wood-burning stove. The cottage is split into two parts: “the old bit” with two bedrooms, a small study and a large sitting room, and “the new bit” with two additional bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen (two fridges!) and a bathroom.
Picturesque Mountain Lodge – Donard, Co Wicklow
Nestled in The Glen of Imaal, this giant seven-bedroom lodge is surrounded by forest and mountain tops. It’s ideal for events or a holiday with plenty of friends or family. Additional amenities on offer include wood-fired hot tubs, Wagyu beef BBQs, outdoor pizza parties, yoga, creative workshops and guided hikes.
Cuckoo Wood Hexagon – Westport, Co Mayo
On a visit to this hexagon-shaped hut, you may find a few goats and hens roaming the nearby orchard. Its many windows and smart spacing makes it a bright and airy escape from the nearby city of Westport, just 5km away.
Donegal Cabin – Fintown, Co Donegal
This handcrafted cabin has stunning views of Glenveagh National Park and is just a short jaunt from the Wild Atlantic Way. Its interior is mainly comprised of handcrafted and upcycled pieces and has its own private decking area with a BBQ.
Golden Cove Lodge – Sneem, Co Kerry
A part of Sneem Hotel, this three-bedroom, three-bathroom cabin is fitted with a stunning, stone fireplace, a full kitchen, and beautifully designed interiors with seafront views. It’s a great place to stay if you plan on finally checking the Ring of Kerry off your bucket list.

Periwinkle Cottage is the perfect summer getaway. It sleeps four, with spacious interiors and a sundeck with beautiful ocean vistas. Plus, the host, Peter, comes highly rated for his friendly and helpful service.
