Beloved West Cork interiors shop, The Old Mill Stores, is for sale

Combining a shop space as well as gorgeous residential accommodation, it’s a great opportunity for someone to combine business and pleasure.

A much-loved interiors store outside Leap, Co Cork, The Old Mill Stores is known for its eclectic and unique range of homeware, and was awarded Best Independent Retailer at the 2017 Image Interiors & Living Design Awards.

Run by Tom Keane and Claire Graham, you always find something to delight when walking through the shop doors. Their home adjoins the shop, and is the perfect showcase of their enviable style. Now the opportunity has come up for someone else to make use of this unique space.

Built in the 1920s, it is full of character. The shop is on a main road, with much passing footfall and has space for parking, while inside has several spaces. One of the rooms has a triple-paned window to the front and French doors opening onto a Juliet balcony overlooking the rear garden. Although currently an interiors store, it would clearly suit other businesses too.

As well as the shop on the ground floor, the residential accommodation has a separate entrance hall, leading to a large, bright living space. Over two further levels are a kitchen and dining space, four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a second living space. Each has been decorated in a contemporary style, and could be moved into immediately.

With a lush back garden that many of the rooms face, the home feels separate from the shop, private and secluded. A large decked area is perfect for enjoying warm days and outdoor dining, and the current owners have shown how the right outdoor furniture makes it feel like another room.
