Supper Club: 8 delicious dinners with minimal ingredients

Change things up with these tasty dinners made with just a few ingredients from the press.

The cost of living crisis means that people are trying to pinch pennies wherever possible… which has forced many of us cooking-challenged folk to start making dinner at home on a more regular basis. 

And while it’s easy to fall back on frozen pizzas and pre-made lasagnas, our meals can get boring quite quickly.

But not all gourmet meals have to be complicated. Here are eight delicious meals made with just a few ingredients, most of which you probably already have in the press: 

Smoked salmon and spinach gratin, BBC Good Food

Ingredients are spinach, butter, double cream and 6 salmon fillets.

Fig caprese salad, Bon Appetit

Ingredients are mozzarella, figs, salt and pepper, olive oil and some basil leaves to serve.

Risotto with bacon and peas, BBC Good Food

Ingredients are an onion, butter, streaky bacon, risotto rice, vegetable stock, frozen peas and grated parmesan to serve.

Brown butter-basted steak, Bon Appetit

Miso mushroom and tofu noodle soup, BBC Good Foodsimple dinners

Ingredients are rapeseed oil, mixed mushrooms, smoked tofu, brown rice miso paste, buckwheat or egg noodles, and spring onions.

Piri-piri chicken pittas, BBC Good Food
