Watch: Tiny Kitten Walks For The First Time Using Special Wheelchair

In a video that turned our hearts to mush, we discovered the story of miracle kitten Cassidy and his journey as he took his very first steps. Cassidy is a teeny, formerly feral kitten with no back legs that took his first steps in a bitty wheelchair made especially for him.

This courageous little kitten was saved from certain death earlier this month by the Canada-based rescue group, Tiny Kittens Society. When Cassidy was discovered in a feral cat colony in British Columbia, both his back legs were missing, but despite enduring this trauma, the kitten was determined to live and walk again.

“It is a medical miracle that he survived even a day with such severe injuries, let alone nine weeks,” the rescue group wrote on Facebook. “His little body had just about given out from starvation and infection by the time we rescued him, but he never gave up!”

His rescuers knew that it was essential that Cassidy get around on his own, so they enlisted the help of engineers at Handicapped Pets Canada, a company that specialises in making mobility devices for pets with disabilities.

Using a 3-D printer, they were able to create a special little wheelchair that perfectly fit Cassidy’s pint-sized frame – allowing the amputee kitten to take his very first steps. When people come together for the greater good, truly anything is possible. And just look at the adorable, miraculous video (with highly appropriate music) below:

How cute is the kitty in question and how amazing is this story? If this doesn’t warm your heart on this chilly Irish day, we don’t know what will.
