6 of the most popular recipes on IMAGE.ie to try this week

On the search for some delicious new recipes? Here are six of the most popular recipes currently on IMAGE.ie

With no restaurants or cafés to frequent, we are all cooking more than usual.

From bread to pasta to brownies, we are experimenting and fine-tuning our skills like Michelin star chefs. The IMAGE readers know a good recipe when they see it, which is why we have listed six of the most popular concoctions that are currently on site.

Get the kids involved and make it a family affair or use them to facilitate some valuable alone time.

Porridge bread recipe (that costs less than €1 per loaf)

This recipe is one of your favourites. It has been liked and shared thousands of times since we first published it six years ago, and it’s still as good now as it was then. This simple bread alternative tastes delicious and is simple to make. It’s reminiscent of the classic brown soda bread your mother and grandmother used to make, but minus all the flour.

Susan Jane White’s healthy(ish) brownies

It’s still technically Easter week which means we want to eat anything with chocolate involved. These deliciously moreish brownies are made with coconut sugar making them slightly healthier than most. However, they taste more like caramel than coconut and are the perfect after-dinner treat.

Make-ahead breakfast wraps

In the mood for something a little different in the morning? These protein-rich breakfast wraps are a quick win and can be made in advance and stored in the freezer to make mornings a little easier.

Neven Maguire’s brown soda bread

This classic is one of Neven’s most popular recipes and you at home love it too. It’s a great bread for novice cooks to start with, as there is no proving or kneading. It’s a bread that goes with everything, but is particularly good with soup or cut into slices and served with smoked salmon.

Ice cream sandwiches

These are ideal to make with the kids. They take a little time but the taste alone is worth it and they are the perfect weekend treat as the weather picks up.

A garlic and spinach pasta recipe the family will love

This tasty pasta recipe is from Abra Berens’ cookbook, ‘Ruffage: A Practical Guide to Vegetables’ and is a great family-friendly dinner choice. The dish packs a garlic punch but feel free to half the amount used.
