Enjoy the ultimate feel-good shopping experience with Theo + George

We’re all trying to buy local and think global these days. That’s why I’m especially excited about the new collaboration between Irish brands Theo + George and Baal & Tanit. Both brands are known for exceptional craftsmanship, affordable luxury and social responsibility. Now they’ve united their design talents to create a range of monogrammed cashmere jumpers that offer the ultimate feel-good factor; not only do they look and feel wonderful to wear, they’ve also been produced in a manner that’s socially and ethically responsible.

I find the more I shop, the less satisfied I feel with my wardrobe, if that makes any sense. Perhaps it’s because I begin to lose sight of all the pieces I own, and very soon I feel as if I’ve wasted money filling a wardrobe with clothes that I can’t find or have forgotten about. Sometimes too much is simply too much. That old mantra “buy fewer but better” makes a lot of sense (sartorially and ethically), and I enjoy my clothes so much more since I adopted this mindset and stopped bringing home throw-away pieces. We’re so lucky in Ireland to have such incredible design talent, and I get a real buzz from supporting and wearing it.

We all feel occasional guilt about shopping for ourselves, but to my mind buying a cashmere sweater from Theo + George and Baal & Tanit has none of those negative associations. By choosing one of their cashmere sweaters, I’m supporting Irish design, buying local, contributing to the global effort to make the fashion industry more sustainable, plus I’m showcasing a fabulous Irish product, while feeling absolutely amazing in it! That’s a lot of positive boxes ticked!

A cashmere sweater from Theo + George and Baal & Tanit really is the perfect forever piece. It’s timeless, beautifully tactile – so a pleasure to wear – and effortlessly chic. This will be top of my Christmas wish list this year (no gift excites me as much as an item of clothing!). What makes these sweaters even more special is that they can be personalised. Nothing feels so luxurious and special as having an item of clothing with your own initials on it.
