Irish designer Simone Rocha has a book coming soon

With contributions from fashion behemoths, the book offers a detailed visual interpretation of the last decade of Simone Rocha.

Sure to be an absolute essential for any fashion lover’s bookshelf, Irish designer Simone Rocha has announced an upcoming book created with Rizzoli, set to be a monograph and the first comprehensive book on her work.

Coming this September, it will detail the brand’s last decade, from collaborations with Moncler, H&M, J Brand and most recently at couture, John Paul Gaultier, and features contributions by Cindy Sherman, Petra Collins, Tim Blanks and Ed Templeton amongst more.

“The book is insightfully edited, designed, and crafted, gathering catwalk images, shadowy editorials, and backstage imagery in a manner that stays true to the very nature of the dark and twisting world she’s created,” according to Rizzoli, and “is a long, pensive gaze into Rocha’s subversive world, one heavily inspired by the work of Louise Bourgeois.”

Simone Rocha is described by Rizzoli as “a natural bookmaker”, having published an impressive number of incredibly collectible zines, not to mention recently penning the beautiful foreword for the newly released photobook, Girls’ Night by Irish photographer Eimear Lynch on the heady days of Irish teenage discos.

Dublin-born designer Simone Rocha’s highly singular designs have been fully-formed since her celebrated debut collection at London Fashion Week in September 2010, and her signature gothic and feminine play on texture and volume, from puff sleeves and bows to platform brogues and pearl detailing have captivated A-listers from Rihanna to Chloë Sevigny, to developing a cult fashion following worldwide.

The book is available to pre-order now through Rizzoli and simonerocha.com.
