When she’s not killing it on the catwalk or hitting back against body-shamers,’model Gigi Hadid is working towards career goals and aspirations, just like the rest of us.
One of those dreams became reality for Hadid today after it was announced that she would finally don a very special pair of Angel Wings. Victoria Secret announced today that Hadid would be joining the iconic catwalk show next month.

Hadid has worked with the brand’s PINK line in the past, but this marks her big Victoria Secret Fashion Show debut. Hadid shared a screengrab from the casting clip on Instagram, thanking Razek and Victoria’s Secret for the opportunity to achieve a lifelong goal. “Anyone that grew up with me knows that getting this show has been a dream of mine forever!” she said. The lingerie giant also announced the news via Twitter, also with a small clip of Hadid’s audition (even a top model still has to attend casting calls) and she is gleefully excited when they invite her to take part in the show. Rumours swirled that she would be chosen last year, but there were reports of ?botched? audition as a result of?nerves.
All is well, though, as with her soon-to-be-title as a Victoria Secret Angel this surely means the start of further career success for the model turned music video director. She is known for her curves in the industry, so she seems like a natural fit for the brand. She’ll also act as replacement after the departures of seasoned Angels, Doutzen Kroes and Karlie Kloss earlier this year. Hadid’s loved ones – including her sister, Bella, her mom, Yolanda Foster, and her boyfriend, Joe Jonas – also took to social media to congratulate the delighted fashionista.
