Cut It Out

Hometown hero ADW is Ireland’s brashest and boldest stencil artist. Politically savvy and humorous, his works and thoughts are splayed out across walls of the city with a striking relevance and beauty. Some will remember his brilliant Celtic Tiger Bertie. Now as his new solo show in Filmbase kicks off over the weekend, newspapers and radio alike are hailing him as the ?Irish Banksy?, a reference to the London-based graffiti and stencil artist famous for his guerilla art with a strong interventionist and political thrust.ADW The exhibition opened last night as part of OFFSET. Don’t miss the solo show as they’re rare, and catch him before his work get legs and covers the walls of distant cities.
