Dinner at Sea

Last Saturday, IMAGE Magazine and Celebrity Cruises invited their friends and family to an amazing dinner on board the Celebrity Silhouette, which was docked overnight in Dublin Port for the first time. The event was an opportunity to kick off the beginning of the IMAGE’s 40th birthday and to celebrate the people who help make our jobs so enjoyable.
On arrival at the dock, we were welcomed on board and taken to a drinks reception on the very impressive 15th Deck Lawn Club at the top of the ship with stunning views of the Dublin landscape as the sun began to set.
After a tour of the ship, where we were more than impressed with the full scope and range of the cruising experience, dinner was served in the Tuscan Grille Restaurant. The food was sublime with a selection of Italian classic dishes being served; beef carpaccio and asparagus risotto were the choice of appetisers followed by minestrone or goats cheese salad. The main course was either lobster pappardelle or filet mignon. Dessert was tiramisu or the Tuscan Grille signature pistachio marble cr’me brul?e (complete with popping candy!).
After dinner speeches were led by IMAGE editor-in-chief, Melanie Morris, and Michael English, the Head of Business Development at Celebrity Cruises. A rousing chorus of Happy Birthday rung out at the cutting of the IMAGE birthday cake before we disembarked and carried the party forth to the piano bar at Residence where we were treated to yet more cake by Cocomoiselle.
Guests left with a gift bag containing the brand new September issue of IMAGE, Voya face mask, a beautiful piece from the fall collection by YSL Beauty, a Paperblank 18 month diary and some deliciously indulgent chocolate truffles from Marks & Spencer.
