‘Treat your hair, ladies’: Cardi B shares her DIY, moisturising hair mask recipe

The rap star says she uses the hydrating avocado mask on both her and her daughter’s hair

Cardi B recently took to Instagram to share her secret hair mask recipe and it has some surprising ingredients.

The rapper revealed a stunning picture of her straight-prone hair and her almost two-year-old daughter, Kulture’s more naturally curly hair.

“Okay guys, so this is really how my hair is,” she said. “My hair gets like this when you blow dry it. Then two days later it just puffs up like this, even when [I] braid it.

“This is my hair texture. My hair is not curly…my daughter’s hair is curly. But my sh*t just don’t get curly at all. It’s just straight like this.”

She went on to show how her DIY mask provides ultra hydration for dry hair and replenishes brittle ends, promoting long hair growth.

“I still need moisture,” Cardi said. “It’s just a good hair mask to help your hair grow. All the good things that you put in your body, you got to put in your hair.”

The ingredients

The Press singer said she uses a combination of all-natural ingredients: avocado, argan oil, mayonnaise, castor oil, olive oil, eggs, honey and banana.

She doesn’t list a specific amount for each ingredient, but she does have the ‘how to’ videos on her Insta Hair Day story.

Careful to add just a tiny bit of honey, she warned, otherwise it makes hair too sticky.

“I know it’s a lot of oil but my baby’s hair got to be really hydrated like mine,” she said.

The results

Cardi shares results of the hair mask on Kulture’s hair, showing how it really brings out her curl pattern and a healthy shine.

The singer’s hair is also rehydrated, smooth and shiny after the DIY treatment.

She shared her final hair result on Instagram, reminding us to “treat your hair, ladies”.

“It helps with hair growth A LOT!”

Who would have thought mayonnaise could be a key hair mask ingredient? We can’t wait to try this.
