We need to talk about the new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk range

When all else fails, trust in failsafe nudes.

It started out as a universally adored and permanently sold out lip liner and a lipstick that is sold every two minutes, then evolved into an eyeshadow palette and blusher that sold out twice worldwide. Now, Charlotte Tilbury’s iconic Pillow Talk collection has evolved again.

The dusky hue that has been often duplicated but never truly replicated began as a formula that Charlotte Tilbury used to mix backstage herself by hand. “I wanted to alchemise that nude and pink, pout-perfecting colour,” says Tilbury. “It was a colour unique to me. It’s that “has she had them done?” lip booster that beguiles anyone who crosses your path.”

Universally flattering on all, as it was, Pillow Talk was never a universal “nude”, as no such thing exists. What was once invariably labelled a nude, we know now, usually meant “natural-toned lipstick for white women.” Now that diversity can make or break a beauty brand, the beauty industry has evolved and ‘nude’ lipsticks today reflect as many shades as can be found in skin. Which means that with two of the new additions to the new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk range, two new shades of lipsticks and lip liners called Medium and Intense, we can officially call Pillow Talk the universally flattering nude for all.

The collection also includes an eye-wateringly beautiful new eyeshadow palette, with 12 new shades. The Instant Eye Palette in Pillow Talk, €75, is designed for desks, dates and dreams, with matte and shimmering peaches, corals, warm and cool browns, berries and of course, dusky rose Pillow Talk pink. There’s also a new and delicious, creamy and blendable Pillow Talk Eye Liner, €25, in a matte and smokey berry-brown.

The IMAGE Beauty Award-winning Collagen Lip Bath has had a Pillow Talk make-over too, with a new shade of dusky rose pink, complete with heart-shaped applicator and the signature pout-enhancing and tingly mint taste.
