With great events happening all around Ireland this weekend, we've narrowed down some of our top picks taking place from 8-10 March...

Disrupt Disability Arts Festival

Disrupt Disability Arts Festival is a vibrant celebration of disability art, curated by and for the disability community. The line up includes theatre, dance, literature-based performance and visual arts, all delivered through a range of accessible engagement formats in relaxed spaces. This unique festival is designed to deepen understanding and appreciation for the richness of experiences and perspectives that define disability in Ireland, actively dismantling barriers to artistic engagement faced by both artists and audiences with lived experience of disability.

The seaside town of Balbriggan will come alive for a week with ensembles, performing groups and singers from around the world for a programme of musical events and competitions.This year, the festival is set to be even more exciting with food marquees, local arts and crafts markets, busking competition and live events.

The GALPAL Collective presents: Directed by Her

9&10 March, Rua Red Arts Centre and The Racket Space

GALPAL is dedicated to community cultivation, creation and support of works by queer folk, POC, migrants, and women. In celebration of International Women’s Day, they’re hosting a female-focussed film festival of sorts, with events including The Slumber Party, which includes screenings of music videos, video art and experimental pieces directed by various FLINTA directors from Ireland and internationally, and The Workshops, which is targeted towards any upcoming creative navigating the world of treatments, pitch decks and freelance financing.

Young at Art: Belfast’s Children’s Festival

Belfast Children’s Festival is not just for the young, but also the young at heart with local, national and international performances and events to entertain, surprise and delight. Throughout the year, Young at Art continues to provide exceptional arts experiences for children and young people through a variety of engagement projects with key partners and standalone events, including the much-loved Baby Rave.

Described as “the moment we’ve all been waiting for” and “the best show in town”, WAKE is the entertainment event of the decade, and everybody is invited.

Buskers for Palestine

An intimate concert organised by Pinocchio Magazine with some of Dublin’s top original singer/songwriter buskers to raise money for Doctors Without Borders to support humanitarian aid in Palestine, the event will feature David Owens, Leah Moran, Dylan Harcourt, Larabel, and Harry Fennell. All proceeds go to Médecins Sans Frontières.
