Hair highlighters you need to try (yes, they’re a thing now)

Hair highlighters you need to try (yes, they’re a thing now)

Hair highlighters mightn’t sound like something you need, necessarily, but glossy, healthy hair? Yes, please. And these products will help with that…

You might not want to change your hair colour, but feel that your current colour or lack thereof is leaving you feeling less than enthused about your hair. If that’s the case, which it is for me at the moment, hair highlighters might be exactly what you’re looking for. But… what ARE they?

Bumble & Bumble BB Glow Bond Building Styler

€30 from eu.feelunique.com

The way this one goes about highlighting is that “polishes” your hair – it builds bonds to help strengthen hair from within. Not only that, but it smoothes, provides light hold, protects against heat damage.

You can either apply it to damp hair and brush through before blowdrying or else before leaving to air dry – it makes sure your hair doesn’t frizz up when left to dry naturally.

L’Oréal Professionel Majirel Glow

Salon treatment, price per salon

Meanwhile over at L’Oréal Professionel, they’ve formulated their first transparent permanent colour, or a reflect formula, as they call it. It’s a consumer-inspired colour service all about achieving a super luminous shine, with a subtle hint of tone, to leave hair looking glowing.

Salon colourists can play with techniques, so whether you want glow lights, glow balayage or a glow band, it can work for you.

Oribe Glaze for Beautiful Colour

€56.75 from spacenk.com

This (fairly pricey but totally glorious) Oribe product intensifies hair colour and highlights. It was formulated to be both extremely conditioning, but also to be lightweight so that it does not weigh hair down.

Suitable for use on both colour treated and natural hair, you massage it into freshly washed hair and leave in for three to five minutes before rinsing out.
