Ahead of our Mentoring Workshop on January 27th, we asked our mentor Elizabeth Whelan, to share 5 ways we can boost our well-being in 2016.
1.Be mindful of your body.
Sit down and really listen to what your body is saying to you. If we become mindful of our body, it connects with our mind and tells us things we might not have noticed.
2. Identify your stressors and try to deal with these stressors.
In today’s hectic world, we are often unaware of the causes of stress in our lives. Whether it’s from our family, work or social life, it is important we become aware of what is causing us anxiety if we want to resolve it.
3. Utilise your energy in a better way.
Our energy is influenced by a number of different sources: from breathing and mindfulness to nutrition and hydration. We need to make sure that we utlise this energy in the best possible way. For example, if we deplete our energy resources on negative thinking, we will have less available to use for more productive tasks.
4. Find something that really fulfills you.
Whether this is yoga, a lavender bath or simply a long walk on the beach, try to find something which makes you happy and incorporate this into your daily routine.
5. Become aware of your thoughts. If you think negatively all the time, you are going to live in fear. This makes it impossible to ever live a happy life. The truth is our thoughts are our reality. This means that if you don’t want something as a reality in your life – stop thinking about it!
