Want to know how to easily upcycle your wardrobe? Take part in a four-hour alterations course with alterations specialists When Poppy Met Daisy this Sunday, November 6th. During this informative and fun afternoon, you can expect to learn all the sewing machine basics as well as an array of hems, basic alterations and the art of inserting an invisible zip. Guests on the day will leave with their very own self-made bag too (perfect for carrying all of the lovely things you’re going to make). Classes start at either 10am or 3pm. Ireland’s first champagne photo booth has opened at The Marvel Room at Brown Thomas. Supplied by Moët & Chandon, the service allows customers to purchase personalised champagne bottles (complete with your face on the bottle). Personalised labels can also be created using iPhone or Android devices and are priced at €19 for Mini Moët Imperial Champagne (200ml) and €55 for Moët Imperial Champagne (750ml). The Moët & Chandon photobooth is open to customers until Tuesday, December 27th.

The next instalment to Dublin’s Science Gallery will explore the world of fashion, fashion design, digital technology, and how it’s defining our culture. Host Sinead Burke will be joined by creatives, designers and thinkers to discuss these industries and the pivotal role technology plays in their future. Panellists include; Sinead Burke Kate Nolan – MADE/We Are Islanders, Simon O’Regan – Zalando, Aoibheann O’Daly – Love and Robots, Cormac O’Conaire – Design Partners. Decoding Fashion takes place in The Science Gallery on Tuesday, November 15th at 7pm. This is a free event but registration is essential.

Six Irish designers join forces for a one-day fashion pop-up shop on Thursday, November 10th, from 12pm to 8pm at Aoife Harrison Design, 22 Fitzwilliam Street Upper, Dublin 2. Just in time for Christmas, this pop-up showcase will have current and previous seasons available as well as some limited samples. There will be something for every pocket, style and taste. Enjoy a glass of bubbles while you browse. Designers include Aoife Harrison, Deb Fanning , DeBlaca Jewellery, Jennifer Rothwell, Ciara Silke, and Sookyoung Song. See Star Trek Like Never Before Here
Visit The Bord Gais Energy Theatre for a truly spectacular rendition of JJ. Abrams 2009 hit Star Trek; gloriously accompanied by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. Watch the action unfold as old favourites Captain Kirk, Spock, and Scotty are interpreted by Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Simon Pegg respectively. For the old-timers, Leonard Nimoy makes a return to the role he is best remembered for as well.
