What To Do Today: Your IMAGE Guide To The Weekend

Looking for something to do this weekend? Learn to sew for Repeal, take part in the 2017 WellFest, or go to an all-day summer party in The Bernard Shaw. Happy weekend from Image!

Be Well Here

WellFest 2017 – Ireland’s only health, fitness and wellness festival – takes place this weekend in the lush surroundings of Herbert Park, Dublin. WellFest is about participation, feeling good and having fun – as well as celebrating all the different aspects of fitness. But you don’t have to be a fitness buff to take part and organisers encourage anyone and any fitness level to take part. All activities at WellFest are included in the ticket price. A ticket to WellFest allows you the opportunity to handpick your own day of wellness from the large selection of classes, workshops and seminars on offer at the festival. For tickets and info click here.

Sew For Repeal Here

Sew for Repeal aims to introduce the creative skill of sewing and stitching to supporters for Choice. The goal of this workshop is to equip Choice supporters with the necessary skills to express themselves creatively through the art of fashion and textiles. Each garment or piece will be unique to the person, be it a patch on a jumper or a Repeal cushion! This creative workshop takes place today from 4:30 to 6:30 at MVP, Upper Clanbrassil Street, Dublin 8. For tickets and info click here.

Flex Your Hips Here

Unstick your hips! Tight hips and a low back are becoming the norm whether it’s due to an 8 hour day at a desk or you’re a running fanatic, there are lots of reasons why our hips need some extra TLC. You’re invited to take part in a 2-hour workshop at Dublin’s Yoga Hub to unstick and reshape your hips and pelvis. In this 2 hour workshop, you can expect a strong practice with some sweet long-held yin poses to unravel and release tension. This will be a fun and insightful class balanced in both flow and stillness. This 2-hour session costs €25 for non-Yoga Hub members. For more info click here.

March For Our Maternity Hospital Here

In response to the government’s decisions to hand over the new national maternity hospital to the Sisters of Charity, the Parents For Choice group,National Women’s Council of Ireland and Justice for Magdalenes has organised a family-friendly march that will take place tomorrow, Sunday, May 7th, from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Garden of Remembrance. The hope is to send a loud clear message to Health Minister Simon Harris, so make your voice known and join the conversation tomorrow. For more info click here.

Go To An All-Day Party Here

The good folk at the Bernard Shaw are celebrating the start of summer today and tonight with an all day party in The Bernard Shaw followed by an after party with the Bodytonic crew in Wigwam for Bodytonic Present: Byron The Aquarius & Sage. Did we mention admission is free and a big blue bus full of pizza? For more info click here.
