With last minute summer holidays in the offing and plenty of trips to the beach on the horizon, the IMAGE staffers share the bikinis and swimsuits they’ll be taking with them.

I bought this M&S bikini for a trip to Spain at the end of May and was really pleased with it. I love a simple shape (I’m not interested in fiddling with ties and straps), which this delivers on, plus the ribbed detailing was a nod to the Hunza G version that I’d love to splash out on, but can’t justify. Bonus points for padding, and the bright red shade tempting me away from my usual black!

When putting together our sustainable swimwear guide, I fell in love with this check print bikini from AFENDS. It’s made from recycled fabric, has a ‘90s-style adjustable halter neck, and matching tie-at-the-sides bottoms. For a one-piece option, I think this polka dot swimsuit from & Other Stories is stunningly chic. I want these purchases to last summer after summer, and I know that the deep V-neck and twisted detailing will make me feel good stepping out onto the beach.

I’m off to Italy this month and I’m still searching for a bikini that will fit me perfectly. I go for sea swims and saunas weekly with my gal pals and this swimsuit from Arena has been such a game changer. It’s so comfortable and easy to take on and off, but also feels secure and fits the body nicely. If you are someone who’s looking for a good investment then these swimsuits are the ones for you. Plus they’ve got loads of colours to choose from! I’d also love to get a cute set from Hunza G, so far I have my eyes on this one and this one.

Like almost all of Ireland, I’ve gotten really into going to the sauna recently and what a good excuse to have nice swimwear all year round now! I recently got this one piece from Never Fully Dressed. I love the sun motif and colours, it makes me feel like I’m on a tropical beach rather than a wooden cabin in an industrial estate in Inchicore! (The Hot Box Saunas in Inchicore are very lovely, big fans!)
I also love a cute bikini. I purchased this one from Zara for when I go to Spain at the end of the month – obsessed with the embroidered love hearts!

I have been on a somewhat arduous journey when it comes to swimwear. There are so many things to consider when investing in a good one piece. My priority is always support and found my options few and far between. Luckily, I stumbled upon Junk Ldn a few years ago – an independent swimwear brand using plastic waste to create the most gorgeous pieces for a fuller bust.
My favourite piece is the Flora Swimsuit in black (though my pistachio version deserves an honourable mention). I missed out on the last drop, but am patiently waiting for the Florence Top to come back in stock to make my next purchase!

As my fellow big-busted ladies will know, it can be a struggle to find a supportive bathing suit that doesn’t look like something your granny would wear – or that doesn’t break the bank. When I stumbled upon Simply Be and Oxendales, they were a godsend for my holiday bathing suits. I went away to Spain last month and I found a good few bikinis that were colourful and cute, as well as comfortable and supportive. They always have a sale on too, so you’re likely to get a good deal!
