Louise Cooney: A week in my wardrobe

Louise Cooney: A week in my wardrobe

by Louise Cooney
14th May 2023

Obsessed with all things fashion and beauty, Irish influencer Louise Cooney is a busy woman whose day-to-day often involves up to three outfit changes! Pivoting between super glam and cosy, casual, she enjoys trying new trends but making them her own. Here she shares a week in her wardrobe.

I’ll attempt to show you what a week in outfits looks like for me, it should be interesting as every week can be very different for me. Usually, there will be something to get glammed up for, which is fun, but for the most part, my daily uniform is my CLOO gear. It’s what I wear when I want to feel like the best, most productive version of myself.

Between shooting content, going to events and getting the daily jobs done at home I sometimes can end up changing my outfit three or four times a day! If you follow me on Instagram (@louisecooney_) you’ll be used to this.

This week is a good summary of what a week can look like outfit-wise.

MONDAY

Usually, Mondays are not so glamorous but this week I attended the Mugler X HM collection launch event in London. I got to choose pieces from the collection to wear and I fell in love with this blazer. I wanted to choose something that really encapsulated Mugler’s iconic designs but also something that was true to my own style. This corset blazer with the mesh-panelled corset bodice is something I know I will wear again and again.

TUESDAY

I took the opportunity of a sunny morning in London to break out the summer wardrobe. God knows the sun is taking its time arriving in Ireland this year! This full look is from H&M as I wanted to dress on brand for the trip. I’m loving the denim maxi skirt trend at the moment and this cream one from H&M will be a handy one over the next few months. I will be living in these chunky sandals once the weather allows for it! They’re so comfy. I completed the look with a crochet crop top and linen oversized blazer.

WEDNESDAY

I had a busy day of meetings and work events today. In the evening, I went along to a live recording of Angela Scanlon’s Ask Me Anything. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a dressy or casual vibe, so I went for something in between.  I wore these wide leg jeans from River Island – I love them for their jeans as they do them in short, regular and long! I’m 5ft 10 so I need the extra length. The shirt I picked up a few weeks ago in Sandro in Kildare Village. I love a striped shirt for spring summer – I must have three variations of the same blue and white striped shirt. I added these white court heels from Zalando to dress up an otherwise casual look, and some brown accessories. The belt is Mango and my bag is Celine.

THURSDAY

I kicked off Thursday by recording a podcast and then went to the launch of Georgie Crawford’s book Glow in the Merrion. The book is amazing, definitely worth picking up if you are in need of inspiration. One of my friends told me that I wore a very “Louise” look to this event – cigarette trousers from Penneys, paired with a oversized shirt and striped jumper, both from H&M. My favourite part of this look is the shoes. I am so happy kitten heels are back. These are from &Other Stories, a great find for summer!

FRIDAY

I started today off by shooting some occasion wear looks for a job I had with Penneys. I fell in love with this dress, it would be perfect for a summer wedding and it’s only €25! I have five weddings this year, so I’m always on the lookout for dresses like this.

After the glamour, I’m straight back into my CLOO activewear – it’s what I start and end my day in, every day. It’s my daily uniform! It’s also what I find I get the most work done in, as I’m comfy. We just restocked our bestselling CLOO Varsity Jumper and it is my favourite thing to wear at home!

SATURDAY

Saturday night is date night – this Skims dress has been my “when in doubt” dress ever since I bought it. I have it in the strapless version too and now I want it in more colours. Is it worth the hype? YES! The fit is so flattering and the material is super soft. It’s the kind of piece that can bring you from season to season!

SUNDAY

Sundays are all about being cosy, going for nice walks, having some delicious food and spending time with my favourite people. I’m wearing the CLOO oversized sweatshirt from our new SS23 collection here. It sold out within 24 hours of our launch so I’m very excited for the restock in early June! Keep an eye on the website!
