Laura Mullett: A week in my wardrobe

Laura Mullett: A week in my wardrobe

Laura Mullett is a fashion broadcaster, stylist to the stars and fashion expert who has styled many a high profile client for the IFTAs, BAFTAs and international red carpets. Here she shares a week in her wardrobe.

MONDAY

I wore this outfit to a wedding last weekend. My satin look mustard trench is from the Megan Fox x Boohoo range. My dress is Zara, I bought it on a Roman holiday earlier this year. I found my sparkly Carvela heels in my local NCBI charity shop and my pearl earrings are my best vintage find from Jenny Vander vintage.

TUESDAY

When I wore my Zara floral maxi dress in Rome, I styled it with vintage Jenny Vander daffodil gloves, a vintage mixed metallic DVF clutch from the Designer Exchange and Zara statement earrings. My fiancé Darren took these snaps at the Pantheon and then we went for an aperol spritz and some pasta… it was heaven!

WEDNESDAY

The last thing I bought online are these ASOS metallic cowboy boots. My dress is Forever New from Arnotts, it’s my favourite brand for linen summer dresses that wash well and will stand the text of time.

THURSDAY

The best investment I ever made for my work wardrobe was my pre-loved Louis Vuitton vintage looping bag. I bought it from the Designer Exchange on Exchequer St in Dublin. It’s a classic piece and I can fit so much in to it. This bag is always on my arm. I fit my whole life in it! I love the large looping handle if I’m slinging it on my shoulder over coats in autumn/ winter. It adds relaxed glamour and elevates my day to day outfits. My sister Jade captured this moment on our trip to Paris. We were having dinner together  at our favourite restaurant, Le Brebant.

FRIDAY

In this snap I’m at lunch at Café Marly beside the Louvre with my sister Jade. I’m wearing a Penney’s boucle-style beret, a dress by Irish designers Born Sisters with pearl detailing (I love it so much) and Penney’s socks and loafers. And there’s my trusty Louis Vuitton vintage looping bag on my arm again. I feel this Born Sisters dress is an empowering style choice – I feel so great when I wear it. I wore it previously to host a virtual fashion event for the Jo Malone, Estee Lauder and Mac Cosmetics international teams. My boots are Simmi Shoes and my brooch is by The Sparkle Atelier.

SATURDAY

My current favourite piece of clothing is this floral wide leg jumpsuit from my Safura.ie exclusive edit. Deciding what to wear each morning sets my mood for the day. I love a blend of fashion and function, fit and flare! I choose my look each day depending on whether I’m pulling clothes for shoots, filming on Ireland AM or if I’m working from home, writing articles for online. I love colour and comfort where possible to elevate my mood. I’m an advocate for dopamine dressing! As I’m a fashion stylist and journalist, every day is different.

SUNDAY

This is another look from my trip to Paris with my sister. It takes me a little long to get ready because I love to do my full skincare routine before my make up if I have special plans – I love using my lotions and potions, ice roller, gua sha, my nuface, everything! You can usually find me listening to podcasts when getting ready and procrastinating if I have the luxury of more time to get where I have to go!
