Little Luxuries: Zoe Rocha’s Style Secrets

Zoe Rocha is the daughter of designer John Rocha and sister of Simone. In 2014, she set up the London-based TV and film production company LittleRock Pictures. Previously, she spent five years as COO and comedy and drama executive producer of Stephen Fry’s production company, Sprout Pictures. Rocha was also involved in the development of the Emmy Award-winning television series Moone Boy. Here she tells us about her little luxuries and lets us in on her style secrets and her fashion insider knowledge.

I wanted to be Courtney Love when I saw her shoot for the Saint Laurent Music Project.

“My favourite label is Saint Laurent Paris. Hedi Slimane’s reinvention of the brand has been extraordinary. He’s made an established fashion house feel fresh, vibrant and accessible. I wanted to be Courtney Love when I saw her shoot for the Saint Laurent Music Project.”

“Giambattista Valli’s couture collection was on another level. If I ever get nominated for a BAFTA or Oscar – anything at all – I will write a pleading note to the Italian designer begging him to let me borrow the sugarcoated almond sunlit finale dress.”

“There’s no better city for shopping than London. It’s a veritable melting pot of established design and emerging trends. I love Browns boutique on South Molton Street. Curated by the legendary Mrs Burstein, it’s completely unique and has pioneered designer visionaries such as John Galliano and Christopher Kane.”

Coco de Mer – It sells sex, but with class

“I also enjoy visiting the upmarket erotic emporium, Coco de Mer. It sells sex, but with class. And Magma Books in Clerkenwell is a Mecca for fans of Big, old, beautiful coffee table books.”

“My signature scent is Iris Poudre from the Frederic Malle collection by Pierre Bourdon.”

“I fell in love with Peter Beard’s work while working in France a couple of years ago. I couldn’t resist buying Art Edition, a collection of his collages, when a limited edition copy came up for sale recently. It features his journals, diaries and inspirational drawings. His entry featuring Elizabeth Taylor is a personal favourite, and I look at it most days. She’s my style icon.”

“The one piece I’ve bought from this year’s ready-to-wear collections is a Balmain leather jacket, and I’ve literally worn it every day since it arrived. Every woman should invest in one – it’s a wardrobe staple. Mine looks just as good with a delicate lace dress as with a pair of ripped jeans. Perfect. Biker jacket, Balmain, €3,483 at farfetch.com.”
