Happy fashion news for your Tuesday…
Make August the month of packed lunches because we’ve got some wallet damaging news – Victoria Beckham is auctioning off her wardrobe on TheOutnet.com later this month. The designer is putting up 600 items on the site to raise money for mothers2mothers, a Cape Town based charity that trains and employs women living with HIV to become mentors to each other and to help them understand how to prevent further transmission of the disease. Beckham visited the charity earlier this year at the suggestion of Anna Wintour and immediately clicked with founder Dr. Mitch Besser’s mission.
Christies have valued the collection and it looks set to include some iconic looks such as this white Dolce & Gabbana dress from the MTV Music Awards in 2003.
Commenting about her decision to sell these pieces, Beckham said ?People are asking aren’t I keeping a lot of these pieces for Harper? I’m keeping a few pieces but for me it was more important to raise the money for this charity.” Pretty impressive woman. And if the Brand Beckham heyday stuff isn’t up your alley, there will be plenty from her Roland Mouret phase as well.
The sale takes place August 20-25 but you need to register here for a chance to get your hands on some classic Beckham.
Will you be putting a bid in?
