How to look sexy and modern in sheer

How to look sexy and modern in sheer

There are few trends as daunting as sheer. We’re not going to pretend it’s easy, but with a little imagination, it can definitely have a presence in your SS wardrobe. Since Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri sent a magical troupe of whimsical transparent skirts down the runway, we’ve been obsessed. Well, I have at least. It’s the fairy godmother-like style edged up with a “We should all be feminists” tee or leather beret that totally captured my imagination. The Dior girls flashed their oversized pants beneath the star encrusted transparent skirts, but there are other ways to pull off sheer. Remember, this trend isn’t supposed to be provocative. It’s less about showing skin and more about tuning into the romantic side of fashion.

Florals and sheer make for the perfect SS-style recipe. Who doesn’t think of florals in spring? Add a dash of sheer for an ultra-modern update.

The sheer trend is all about femininity. The delicacy of lace lends itself well to the romantic essence of this trend.

Sheer is not only for dresses and skirts. Wearing sheer trousers feels fresh and a little bit less predictable. These soft flowing wide-leg trousers are a summer staple.

Yes, sheer is certainly feminine but there is no denying the edge it can bring to your style. If you’re looking for a feminity that is a little bit cool, with a side of rebellious, a mesh overlay can be the answer. Follow suit with this Mango style by bringing masculinity to the look.

Translucent and polka dots tick two of this season’s trend boxes. Wearing a thin layer of tulle over a slip dress looks sexy and modern. The cut of the slip allows just enough of a sneak peek of those summer pins.
