River Island Launch PLUS Collection For More Inclusive Fashion

Coming as marvellous fashion news on International Women’s Day, we’ve just got wind of River Island’s forthcoming clothing line: a new plus size collection! Shoppers, get set to go wild tomorrow on March 9th, when a variety of key pieces from the RI line will be released in sizes 18-24 across all River Island stores (it’s a 75-piece collection to begin with). It’s high time our high street favourites became more inclusive of women of all shapes and sizes and with River Island leading the charge, hopefully many more will follow suit. What’s more, it’s wonderful to see the same line of clothing tailored to fit all women, as opposed to an entirely separate collection designed to suit only a specific size.

Fans of the brand can look forward to plenty of colour in everything from workwear to party outfits and so much more. What’s really exciting though is the addition of a plus size jeans range; we’ve gone jeans shopping from here to Timbuktu and still, we struggle to find as good a fit on the affordable end of the high street as what you’ll find in here. Here’s what the brand themselves have to say about their latest news.

“We’re excited about giving great fashion to more women,” Marketing Director Josie Roscop said, “we feel this is the right time for the brand to expand our size range offering.

“Ultimately, it’s about fashion and being inclusive.”

The brand turned to the beautiful?Candice Huffine to model their latest offering. “The fact that River Island is extending their sizing while staying true to their brand is perfection”, explains Huffine. “It’s clear they have thought about a curvy woman’s body and designed accordingly while giving her exactly what can be found on the high street at any other size.?A plus size collection doesn’t need to be made totally different, it just needs to be made to fit”.
