After what must have been an unsettling start to the second-half of the year – first the nasty Intern lawsuit and then the strange goings on in Paris – one-half of the Olsen sisters will at least be ending her year on a high.
PageSix reports that the former child star has got hitched this weekend. The now acclaimed fashion designer reportedly married?French banker Olivier Sarkozy, her boyfriend of three years on Friday evening in what sounds to be an intimate affair in Manhattan.
The reception was held at a private residence on 49th Street, between Second and Third avenues; cocktails were served in a rear garden before the 50 guests dined indoors. We won’t see snaps until the 29-year-old decides to release them, as attendees were required to turn in their cellphones beforehand. There were also wedding favours with a difference; party decor consisted of ?bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes, and everyone smoked the whole night,??according to a source.
The intensely private couple sparked rumours that they had married last year following a mysterious snap surfacing on the web, but evidently, this turned out not to be the case. The couple began their courtship in 2012 and initially, the pairing attracted column inches and there?was much to-do surrounding the 17-year age gap between them. Sarkozy’s rather unpleasant’sounding?ex-wife allegedly called the relationship ?grotesque.? However, they are clearly a match and on this happy occasion, love has conquered all, and should (hopefully) silence the critics. This is the first time down the aisle?for Olsen, who will now be stepmother to?Sarkozy’s two children from his first’marriage.
After finding TV-sitcom fame in the early 90s, Mary-Kate and her twin sister, Ashley, established?two high-profile fashion labels, The Row and Elizabeth and James. Both designers have steered clear of the public eye’since they were apparently snubbed during Paris Fashion Week for barging in on an already crowded fashion event, “stealing the limelight” from native brands. ?
Our eyes will be on stalks trying to get a glimpse of the dress that got the Olsen stamp?of approval.
Congratulations to the couple.
