Joanne Hynes Elevates Dunnes Stores Designer Portfolio

Joanne Hynes Elevates Dunnes Stores Designer Portfolio

On Monday, designer Joanne Hynes revealed to the press her first collection for Dunnes Stores. She follows in the footsteps of Paul Costelloe, Carolyn Donnelly and Lennon Courtney, among others.

If you’re not familiar with Hynes’ work, I would say head straight to Dunnes and take?a look, but judging by the instant success of the collection,?you’d be lucky to find a single piece left.?The 100 piece collection (which will arrive in-store in two separate drops, one this week and the other in October) flew out of the flagship Cornelscourt store on the first day in stock, and I can vouch for that as I happened to be there at about 5pm that day and the space had literally been pillaged! Luckily for us, it’s still available online.

What Hynes brings to the Dunnes portfolio is a true taste of high-end, aspirational fashion, but at an affordable price. Her signature look, with its bold shapes, statement embellishment and unconventional fabrics (neoprene has a strong presence), brings something completely fresh to the Dunnes designer range. We love Paul Costelloe for his classic tailoring and elegant knits, but Hynes’s pieces are catwalk-worthy, and there’s something very exciting about being able to find that kind of high-end fashion in your local Dunnes Stores. She has also very cleverly created a collection that can be worn by women from 25 to 55 – it’s all in the styling, and Hynes has?created a capsule collection of beautiful accessories to accompany?the clothes.

The second installment of the collection is due out?in October. Be ready to buy, as these forever pieces won’t last long. Here are some of my favourite picks from the Joanne Hynes At?Dunnes Stores collection.

Ring dress, €150

Reversible shearling coat, €900

Panelled neoprene dress, €180

Bonded star bomber jacket, €125
