Designer Pippa Holt’s Style Tips & Holiday Hero Pieces

Who better to ask about the secrets of chic summer dressing??Former Vogue contributing editor Pippa Holt grew up in Melbourne before moving to London at the age of 23. The now Dublin-based mother-of-three styled celebrities including Cara Delevingne, Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley during her time at Vogue. The 41-year-old recently launched her first collection of kaftans.

1. Always be comfortable in what you wear

Clothes simply look better this way.

2. Invest in pieces and brands

…that suit you and flatter your body shape. Isabel Marant is my go-to summer label.

Treat yourself

…to a pedicure before wearing sandals. I choose a fluorescent shade of yellow nail varnish in summer. If I’m considering buying a special summer dress, I choose something that I can layer in winter over a sweater. Living in this part of the world, I like to buy clothes that can ?carry through? to autumn. I would love a Johanna Ortiz ruffled dress for special occasions.

Find a fabulous pair of sandals

…a chic straw hat and a great beach basket. Key accessories will make a holiday wardrobe look chic, and they won’t date. I love Brother Vellies? Zanzibar yellow ribbon sandals, or Lane Marinho’s artisan sandals, trimmed with shell and coral. I also like Eugenia Kim’s hats, which have fun words stitched on them. And I collect straw baskets from markets on my travels and use them as beach bags.
